Henderson is fit to face Newcastle after missing the last two Premier League games though injury.
And the Sunderland-born midfielder is looking forward to going up against the Black Cats’ fierce rivals.
The 27-year-old, who swapped Sunderland for Liverpool in 2011, believes going up against the Toon will give him extra motivation to perform.
"I've been away from Sunderland for a long time now but it's always in your blood. My family are big Sunderland fans," Henderson said.

Henderson, who made 79 appearances for Sunderland, has also backed his ability to score from distance.
He added: "I used to be told to [shoot from range more].
“In training, I would do it quite a lot in shooting sessions and I was quite good at times.
"I think my finishing is quite good, but when it comes to a game I'm probably a little bit unselfish – laying people in.
“I’ve always been encouraged to do it more."
