I am not Afraid of Ortom

Benue North West Senator Emmanuel Yisa Orker Jev has told his constituents that he is not afraid of Governor Samuel Ortom.

He said this while addressing his constituents shortly after a meeting with the State Working Committee of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Makurdi, the Benue State capital dismissed that he was afraid of the Governor.

“I’m not scared of anybody. If there is anybody to be scared of it should have been Akume and not Ortom,” Senator Jev said.

There are growing speculations that the Benue North West Senator will serve a single term and will be replaced by the current Governor of the state. This is even as the country is near three years away to the next round of general elections.

Senator Jev, who is also a member of ECOWAS Parliament explained how he won the PDP ticket for the 2019 general election, even without having structures in the party.

Hear him: “PDP trusted me and gave the ticket to contest for senate in the last general election when I had no single structure in the party. I contested and the people voted me. Why will I be fighting for party structures?”

He however admitted that the 2023 Benue North West Senate seat belongs to MINDA, a political block in the state.

Senator Jev’s position is that Jemgbagh did 12 years at the Red Chamber of the National Assembly and should he completes four years, it would have been 16 uninterrupted years by Jemgbagh.

However, soon as Senator Jev’s comments were published by a member of his social media team Tersugh Jiir, divergent views have continued to trail them, with some describing him as being unique among politicians while others tongue lashed him.
