Nigerian Senate finally endorses NYSC, Law School for NOUN students
The Senate on Thursday concluded amendment of the National Open University of Nigeria Act.
The amendment will enable students of the university to go for the mandatory National Youth Service Corps, NYSC.
The Senate resolution was as a result of clause by clause
consideration of the amendment of the NOUN Act by the Senate Committee
on Tertiary Institutions and Tetfund, chaired by Senator Jubril Barau.
Also, through the amendment, Law Students from NOUN can now be admitted into the Nigerian Law School.
There had been agitations among the students for their inclusion in the NYSC and the one year Nigerian Law School program.
The National Council on Legal Education had stopped graduates of Law
from the school from attending the Nigerian Law School until now, while
