Biafra agitation suffers setback as Efik pull out of struggle for independence By Edem Edem on July 7, 2017 Agitation by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), a group championing the course for the creation of Sovereign State of Biafra suffered a setback as the Efik apex group, the Efik Leadership Foundation (ELF) has warned IPOB to desist from further inclusion of the Efik people in their agitation. A statement signed by members of the group including Richard Duke, the Board of Trustees Chairman, said that the Efik people can champion their course if need arises and feel insulted by their inclusion in the Biafra map. Efik, the majority ethnic group in Cross River State according to the statement have never been part of Biafra and are still not part of it now. Mourinho should have brought John Terry to Manchester United – Sir Alex Ferguson Former Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, has said he would have brought John Terry to Old Trafford, if he was Jose Mourinho. Terry has signed a one-year deal with Championship outfit Aston Villa, after snubbing several offers to remain in the Premier League. The Sun reports that Ferguson believes the 36-year-old could still do a job in the Premier League. Nigerian Senate finally endorses NYSC, Law School for NOUN students The Senate on Thursday concluded amendment of the National Open University of Nigeria Act. The amendment will ‎enable students of the university to go for the mandatory National Youth Service Corps, NYSC. The Senate resolution was as a result of clause by clause‎ consideration of the amendment of the NOUN Act by the Senate Committee on Tertiary Institutions and Tetfund, chaired by Senator Jubril Barau. It is either Biafra or death – Nnamdi Kanu insists [VIDEO] Also, through the amendment, Law Students from NOUN can now be admitted into the Nigerian Law School. There had been agitations among the students for their inclusion in the NYSC and the one year Nigerian Law School program. The National Council on Legal Education had stopped graduates of Law from the school from attending the Nigerian Law School until now, while they are also not entitled to serve.
