The National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE), has urged the Federal Government to immediately halt its plan to concession the four major airports in the country. The union made this known in an eight-point communique issued at its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting held in Ilorin, Kwara. A copy of the communique which was signed by NUATE’s General Secretary, Mr Olayinka Abioye, was made available to newsmen in Lagos on Thursday. The Minister of State for Aviation, Capt. Hadi Sirika, had on Sept. 6, told newsmen that there was no going back on the concession of the Lagos, Abuja, Kano and Port Harcourt Airports. PDP must apologise to Nigerians—APC

Image
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has described the fresh call by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari as a silly statement that does not worth the ink it was written with, urging the opposition party to apologise to Nigerians. In a statement signed by the National Secretary, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, the ruling party noted that instead of the factionalised PDP hiding in shame over mindless looting of the public treasury to build luxury hotels and other properties, they have the gut to cast aspersion on the current administration. “The attention of the APC is drawn to the latest ridiculous demand by a faction of the PDP that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari return the country to the voodoo economics and reckless fiscal policies the country was subjected to during the immediate-past PDP administration,” the statement read. “Also, PDP’s silly call for the resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari is not worth the ink it is ...

The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Dr. Pius Odubu, has denied reports of renewed crisis between him and Governor Adams Oshiomhole arising from the shift in the date of the governorship election. Both men had reconciled in August after months of bickering during the campaign for the APC governorship ticket. Governor Oshiomhole supported Mr. Godwin Obaseki against his deputy. Affirming that the reconciliation was holding despite insinuations in some quarters, Dr. Odubu’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Kelly Odaro, in a statement yesterday, said:“Our attention has been drawn to the falsehood being circulated by some disgruntled elements on the social media especially by one Ugiagbe Josh Eseiwi that the Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Dr. Pius Odubu is at war with his boss, Governor Adams Oshiomhole, over the shift in date of the Edo Gubernatorial Election. “The said post even went further to suggest that the Deputy Governor had an altercation with the Governor to the extent that the Governo...
